This course is offered biennially during Alma's Spring Term. Under the direction of Dr. Raymond Riley, students spend over two weeks in Kalamazoo, MI attending concerts, master classes, films and musical forums. Most students stay with host families in Kalamzoo for the duration of the festival. The next Irving S. Gilmore International Keyboard Festival will be held from April 21 to May 7, 2006. ![]() The State Theater The Gilmore Festival - Kalamazoo, MI Upon returning to Alma College, students will research and design digital media projects as documentaries based on topics, events, and experiences pertaining to the festival. Each student will have an individual research project on a festival topic of their choosing and will present the final form as a multimedia web portfolio. Additionally, the class will collaborate in groups for the purpose of creating a video documentary of the collective Gilmore Festival experience. | |||||||||||||||||||||
