Music Technology | Software |
With technology changing so rapidly, we utilize a wide variety of applications native to Mac OS X. We do our best
to keep up-to-date on new releases and updates to all of our existing software. Our computers are all Apple PowerMac
G5 computers with dual-processors. We use many different audio and music applications ranging from iTunes to Logic
Pro. These applications serve a variety of purposes like MIDI composition, audio recording, audio editing and
mastering as well as composition using loop-based applications.
However, all of this music production capability would be pointless if we did not also explore the different ways
to deploy our creations through the various mediums of multimedia. It is for this reason that we also explore progressive forms of web deployment such as embeded content, RTSP streaming media, Flash presentations, etc. Students have the opportunity to explore basic video editing with iMovie but can also utilize Apple's professional line of applications such as Final Cut Pro HD, Soundtrack, Motion, and DVD Studio Pro.
It is probably obvious that we strive to integrate a wide mixture of industry-standard software applications. At the same time, we are always testing new freeware and shareware applications to enhance the functions of our current software or to facilitate other tasks.
