The first campus building to be devoted completely to the teaching of music; Eddy Music Center was constructed in 1974-75.

Funds for the building were made available from the estate of Mrs. Sara Eddy of Flint.

The Eddy Music Center is home to eight practice rooms with grand pianos, music faculty offices and studios, classrooms and a large rehearsal hall.

Music students have access to, CD-equipped listening stations, a state of the art recording studio/media production facility, computer-assisted instruction in aural skills, electronic piano laboratory, five-rank Schlicker practice organ and a full complement of orchestral instuments.
