Alma Symphony Orchestra
Murray Gross, Music Director

The mission of the Alma Symphony Orchestra is to provide the finest orchestral experience with performances that are exciting, engaging and entertaining for both the audience and the musicians. We achieve this mission by programming a variety of traditional and modern orchestra repertoire, sponsoring chamber music recitals for our musicians, and featuring the creative work of new composers and the talents of great soloists of our time.

The ASO performs four regular subscription concerts and one chamber music recital each season. The orchestra also performs in our local community at senior centers, civic events, and with high school orchestras such as the Chippewa Hills High School Orchestra and the Mid-Michigan Youth Symphony.

Membership in the ASO is open to all Alma College students and musicians in our community. The orchestra is very proud to be able to offer string and wind scholarships for talented students who choose to continue to perform.

These scholarships are available to all students regardless of major. For complete information please contact Mr. Murray Gross, Music Director at gross@alma.edu

The Alma Symphony Orchestra performs in the beautiful Oscar E. Remick Heritage Center for the Performing Arts which is connected to the Eddy Music Center on the campus of Alma College.
